It's a laptop. It overheats after a while and reduces CPU speed to keep it from becoming a flame-thrower, if you get the idea

OK, let me rephrase: that game is compatible with DeSmuME, and you fucked up when using the code. Deleting the save state, the save game and the cheat codes (dct file, I think, check the FAQ), should get it working ok, if the ROM is not faulty.

You didn't revert the state of the application to the original state, might be a save state or a faulty save game.

It's the action replay code faults, it's not that hard to actually understand the problem. Stop using it.
